True Grit Celebrates Halloween

November 6, 2017

Traditions are important to True Grit, just as they are to families. Halloween is one of the best holiday traditions to take part in and celebrate at work.

The 4th Annual Halloween Luncheon started with a terrifyingly delicious spread of homemade dishes, snacks and desserts. Jacquie Elvish, Senior Health and Safety Specialist used her witchcraft to toil up some addicting butterscotch crunch, while Layla Miller, Engineer in Training had everyone howling for her ghoulish chocolate covered strawberries. To say the least, everyone left horrifyingly full. No spooky celebration at True Grit would be complete without the opportunity to wear costumes, carve pumpkins and win some treats.

The costume contest first place prize went to Luke Viljakainen and Jenny Porter as Forrest Gump & Jenny. Second place went to Kerry & CJ Bishop as the Lion Tamer, while others received honorable mentions.

2017 Costumes

It is no surprise that True Grit staff brought their A game to the pumpkin carving contest. Layla Miller and Amanda Sedgwick’s creepy pumpkins stole the show.

Finally, Jennifer Mills, Jenny Porter, Tyler Rizzuto and Cliff Long put the nail in the coffin at the True Grit Halloween Luncheon by taking first place in the trick-or-treat trivia game. The four won goodies for their hair-raising knowledge of Halloween facts, movies and treats.

A special thank you goes to all of the staff who participated in the Halloween Luncheon.
