Regional Engineering Firm Embarks on New Journey
September 30, 2016
After a decade of providing exceptional air, engineering, environmental and surveying services to clients throughout Northwestern Ontario, employee-owned and operated True Grit Consulting Limited has embarked on a new journey with a new name – True Grit Engineering. The company that began in 2006 as a boutique services firm with four Thunder Bay based employees, has evolved into a multi-faceted corporation of over 60 employees with three office locations across Ontario.
“The first 10 years defined us as a leading employer of engineers, scientists, designers and surveyors who collaborate to solve some of the toughest infrastructure, transportation, planning and environmental challenges in the north” stated Eric Zakrewski, President and CEO of True Grit Engineering. Over the past decade, the firm has notably expanded their service lines to include civil and transportation engineering, environmental engineering, and planning and development services, in turn increasing their employee base to include professional engineers, geoscientists, planners and professional project managers.
The organization has organically grown to include four First Nation partnerships, in addition to two office locations – Sioux Lookout and most recently Welland, Ontario. Expansion during 2016 into the Niagara region of Southern Ontario is part of a larger picture for the firm. “We are actively recruiting world class talent to add to our overall capacity that is mobile in delivering work across the north and western Canada. We look forward to engaging the communities in the Niagara region and continuing our philanthropic initiatives in Northwestern Ontario. Giving back to the communities in which we live and serve is who we are, it’s part of having True Grit,” added Zakrewski. The company is looking forward to the next decade of serving the region as True Grit Engineering.
